Leadership Excellence is committed to developing the next generation of leaders who possess the skills and desire to create social change in urban communities. Our mission is to provide grassroots community organizing and leadership skills to African American children and youth (ages 5 to 18). This is accomplished through workshops, trainings, and curriculum which empowers them to make positive changes in their communities and informed decisions about their lives.

We believe that by providing youth with a meaningful role in community problem solving, they will become more socially aware, academically motivated, and resilient in coping with community, school, and family problems. One way to do this is by involving youth in activities and projects that improve their communities. Studies have shown that by involving youth in constructive activities in their community, they are less likely to engage in high-risk behaviors.
