Camp Akili

Camp Akili is a six-day residential summer leadership camp for African American teens between the ages of 14 and 18. The goal of the summer camp is to train African American teens in Oakland, Richmond and San Francisco to become activists in their communities through the development of leadership skills, social awareness, and cultural esteem. The camp is designed to educate students to think more critically about contemporary issues of inequality, and cultivate their abilities to identify problems in their communities a solve them.
